His four children and their mother were in need of help. The King's Surgeon writes and asks for the favor of some aid. The letter is written during the reign of King Louis XVIII who returned from exile in 1815. His favorite surgeon was Father Elisee who was given the title Premier Chirurgien in 1797, which he retains until his own death in 1817.
