(8 ¼ x 8 ¼ inches). Matted and framed. Fine. LIMITED EDITION of 60 copies. Winner of the first prize, presented to the Paul Landacre Association, for group at the San Diego Arts Guild; the group included Monday and Tuonela. "In the lean years of the Depression, Landacre's overwhelming critical success was unfortunately not accompanied by financial reward. The year 1936 saw his friends Jake Zeitlin and Delmer Daves, in an effort to supplement the meager income Landacre was earning from print sales and the W. P. A., organize the Paul Landacre Association. A small group of subscribers paid a yearly sum of one hundred dollars and in return received a different Landacre wood engraving each month. The Press, Counterpoint, Hill and Shell were just a few of the exquisite prints received by these fortunate patrons over a three year period." [Zeitlin & Ver Brugge Booksellers].
