GILES’ CRIPPLEGATE, AFTER THOMAS HOSMER SHEPHERD’S PAINTING OF 1830, AND ENGRAVED BY JOSIAH HENSHALL (1801?-1869); 2) CHURCH OF ST. SWITHIN’S, CANNON STREET [LONDON], AFTER THOMAS HOSMER SHEPHERD’S PAINTING, ENGRAVED BY J. TINGLE. St. Giles’ Cripplegate is one of the few remaining medieval churches that survived the bombings of London during WWII. The fore-edge paintings here are 20th century work.
