In all 2 pp. Fine. Huggins (1901-1997) was an American cancer researcher who was co-awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1966 for discovering, with colleague Peyton Rouse, that hormones could be used to stop the spread of certain cancers. Goodwin was a prominent Los Angeles urologist. The first letter invites Dr. Goodwin to fill a vacancy in the faculty of the University of Chicago, while the second expresses condolences for bad news of an unclear nature—perhaps Goodwin’s polite rejection of the offer.

C. [ed.]. Who’s Who Among Physicians and Surgeons. Vol. 1. New York: J. C. Schwarz, 1938. p. 674). Goodwin was a prominent Los Angeles urologist.
